December 23, 200520 yr I never use the African or Asian scenery, would there be any problems in just deleting those folders? I do put in new AFCADs on a regular basis and now I have to wait a long time for RC4 to update it's files which includes areas I never fly in. Mike
December 23, 200520 yr Hi I just uncheck all the scenery areas that I don't use , in the scenery area!TONY
December 23, 200520 yr Yes, but I'm trying to cut down on what RC4 does, unchecking would not affect that would it? Mike
December 24, 200520 yr I'm not sure what RC4 is doing but the scenery indexer will skips folders not checked in the dialog. Also, even if they are checked as long as the files haven't changed the initial scan should be very quick on most machines.
December 25, 200520 yr Author Take a look at flight sim manager. It has the concept of scenery sets. It doesn't remove the scenery from scenery.cfg, but it will disable/activate all areas you define as a "set". If RC4 is using sceenry.cfg and ignoring the "active" line, the I guess you would need a collection of scenery.cfg files, and move the one you wanted active into Flight Simulator 9 folder. scott s..
