Alternative cockpit lights colors

Featured Replies

Hi guys, here's my alternative cockpit lights colors for the new Queen.

Disclaimer: I'm not a real 747 pilot, so this is "my personal" representation of a night 747 cockpit based only at videos and pictures colected from internet. I don't know if it's realistic or not.

Some screenshots below taken at night and dusk.

I'll upload my "747QOTSII_Colors.ini" if PMDG authorizes me to do so.

The colors.ini is modifiable by the user thru the FMC (much like the aircraft.ini files), so I don't see an issue with it.

For what it's worth, images and videos are subject to color and saturation distortion that your eye isn't. Compared to the real plane, to me, the images here look too heavily saturated, and a bit warmer than they should, but it is pleasant to a certain degree.

Thanks Kyle! I know about the limitations from pictures and videos, that's why I made the disclaimer.

My main gripe is the default integral panel light color, that seems to be a bit off (looks like the default file has the same "yellowish/greenish" color seen on the 777).

Other than that, flood lights intensity can be adjusted to pilots preference.

Here's the download link for anyone interested in my mod: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fpdynfaxwhu6bb3/747QOTSII_Colors.zip?dl=0

Edit: Default light color for comparison.
