February 7, 20179 yr I've been using FSE:SE for some months with the following specs: i7 4790K (no OC as my MSI H79M-G43 motherboard doesn't allow it), 8GB DDR3 RAM, Sapphire Radeon RX 460 Nitro 4GB, Windows 10 64 bits). Flying with the PMDG 777 at KPHL (Sunskyjet scenary) with reasonable AI traffic (about 16% airline traffic) and foggy weather I get around 25fps during taxi. I use settings that I found to be the best compromise: No lens flare, Texture resolution: 15cm, Water effects: high 2x, Autogen: Very dense. Do you think that moving to P3D with the same hardware would enhance the quality of the sim or help me in getting better performance? Thank your for your feedback! Louis
February 7, 20179 yr In my experience, P3D gives vastly better performance in addons like PMDG. My system is a i5 3570k @ 4.6ghz, GTX 980 Ti, and I compared about 22fps on the ground at KLAX with 50% UT2 traffic vs. 40fps with the same exact situation and scenery in P3D. P3D is also much more capable at preventing the blurry ground texture problem, even with unlimited FPS. As always with these things though, your mileage may vary...
