February 11, 20179 yr I upgraded to a 4k moniter (not tv) over christmas time. I really like it....when theres very very little clouds in P3d. I am currently on a GTX970 and it handles 4k really well. However, once weather hits, FPS plummet. That being said, I am going to upgrade my GPU. I just dont know if shelling out an extra 225 bucks for the 1080 is worth it. Can any of you guys guide me to which one will do a better job in 4k with dense cloud situations? Or are they too close performance wise and not worth shelling out the extra cash for the 1080? Thanks! February 12, 20179 yr I can't speak to a 1070 but I have a ASUS 1080 with an ASUS 4K monitor with a i7-6700K at 4.6ghz and overcast with rain or clear skies, it sits at 30FPS locked with PMDG 777 Fly Tampa Sydney. I use legacy FSX (Deluxe Boxed) with DX10SF on Windows 10. Cheers, Mark

February 12, 20179 yr I honestly don't know, my computer was built for me by a specialist technician who runs his own computer build business where I live. He is a big simmer himself and he told me what I needed for what i run and how I use both FSX and X Plane. And he was spot on; I picked this machine up in July and I have not looked back. All I can tell you is that 4K/i7-6700K/GTX1080/Win10 combination works. Cheers, Mark
