I m ready to get the new 747v2, but I have the old 747-400 and the -8. the question is. do I need to removed the older version, or can I install the new version without having any conflict.

No conflict, though I would remove the old one. As the code gets older, it becomes incompatible with the new hardware and OS code, which can cause issues.
