February 17, 20179 yr Not sure how relevant GoodWay is anymore. 4790K @4.9GHz, 32GB DDR3, 1080Ti, W10-64bit
February 17, 20179 yr Commercial Member It actually looks pretty useful, and having drag and drop route adjustment is quite nice. Looks like that at the minimum it would mostly alleviate the need to peruse a few websites prior to / during a flight. However, it doesn't look like it has any ability to export the flight plan to the sim itself. To be truly useful, I'd want to be to load it up the default GNS, and I don't think anything can do that? I'd be surprised if it couldn't do that. The donationware Plan-G that I use does it, you just export a .fms file to the right XPlane folder. I don't personally see a need for this, because Plan-G does everything I need. This might be better for airline ops, I dunno, but Plan G can show terrain (mountains) on the map, which helps when setting up user GPS waypoints for bush flying. Plan-G can also show MEF (Maximum Elevation Figure) to help avoid smacking into mountains, and it connects with XPUIPC to work as a moving map. On the other hand, Plan-G doesn't do SIDs and STARs, and having the planner as a plugin might be better for some setups. Another thing... I seem to remember that at one point the Goodway developer vanished and stopped supporting the earlier version for X-Plane, leaving some unhappy users. I would be hesitant to buy this myself (and I bought the old version) until hearing some positive feedback about user support. March 4, 20179 yr Ok, its there now. Tried the demo but it is not for me. Unlike the old one this is now a plugin and therefore not what *I* need. But there is Plan-G for me: runing on the second screen, not obstructing X-Plane, can plan my flights up front, have a moving map, etc. For VFR I see no need for this new Goodway. Good luck
