December 28, 200520 yr Thanks for the heads up Steve.Heavy going on the site though.I'll wait until it's less busy. :) John
December 29, 200520 yr Steve, I assume from your post that you fly the Aerosim aircraft. The latest update introduces additional Model files for the L1011 and we now have Model, Model.1, Model.1v, Model.2 and Model.v.I am not really sure what the diferrences are, but I presume they refer to the VC and the wing views.Any ideas please?Thanks,P.S. I may have missed it, but I saw no warning about backing up your aircraft.cfg files before running the update, to preserve the entries for any repaints you may have installed.Luckily, I had backed up all of mine. John
December 29, 200520 yr Hi John,Here is what the service back includes. And yes,..YOU HAVE TO MAKE A BACKUP of all previous folders if you made any changes you would like to save.* L-1011 Tape Engine Instruments fitted to -1 TWA, -500 AC and -100 in Lockheed Color. * L-1011 The nosewheel spins backwards. This is fixed.* L-1011 The lamp on the nosegear will be lit when the taxi light is switched on.* L-1011 One could only dial in SPD and HDG in multiples of 10, but not the single digits in VC. This bug is fixed.* L-1011-500 There was no Dynamic Shine on -500. It is fixed.* L-1011-500 The leading edge of the wingtip is rounded.* DC-10 The center bogey now leaves a smoke puff when landing.* DC-8 Wing view is added.* DC-8 Major Overhaul (rather than facelift): Fuselage: Nose section, tail section and the fillet at wing root are modified. DME, LOC, RA, Duct, Tail lamp are fitted. Vertical Stabilizer: Whole section modified. Static Discharges added. Horizontal Stabilizer: Whole section modified. Static Dischargers added. Main Wings: Engine Pylon and the wing tip lamp modified. Static Dischargers added. Engine: Remake from scratch. Main Gear: Remake from scratch. Nose Gear: The fitting angle of Nose gear, and the wheels are modified.Have a great New Year,http://www.scandicair.com/images/sa_banner.gif"Real men fly with round gauges"[/color] Staffan
December 29, 200520 yr Staff, I always install their updates manually to avoid the problem John mentions (they ought to have a line in their README about that, really) but note this time that there were two texture folders OUTSIDE the aircraft install. Error, you think? They were incomplete, so look as though they were supposed to overwrite existing files in the ADV plane; and yet one was a new folder.I confess that I haven't had time to check all the paints yet, just wondered if you had spotted this. I can't believe those textures were supposed to be floating about, so have modified things accordingly. I may well find that I've stuffed up, but I don't think so!MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM

December 29, 200520 yr Hello Mark, yes definitely back up any alterations on the Aerosim L-10.I made the mistake of making a new paint with the original texture folder name ...not only were the texture files overwritten but all the .psd's, .tga's etc as well ...so the paint was completely lost.My fault completely though for not backing up especially with my dislike of autoinstallers! regardsEd http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v640/edetroit100/edley.gifAMD Athlon 64 3500+, 1024Mb PC3200 DDR, 300Gb HD 128Mb DDR Nvidia 6600GT PCI Express, Audigy 2 ZSCH Products Yoke, Pedals and Throttle Quadrant My FS Videos
