I had a different issue - used to log in with an old display name, but the new version insisted on my current one.  Once I made that change, I was fine - was able to log in with the same password as before.  Caveat - I've only logged in once, not sure what will happen on repeat visits.  

Not surprised to find there's some turbulence....

Nope getting blown out of avsim every 10 mins have to make a new password to get in - very slow also
