Total Confusion About VR Software

Featured Replies

I have spent many hours trying to get either P3d or FSX Steam in Virtual Reality. Result: ONE 15 minute trial flight using Oculus Rift. Frustration and expense excessive so Oculus Rift sent back to Amazon.
Now I have a ZTE Max Pro phone and VR Box headset but here iswhere confusion begins:
1. Trinus software includes the app for PC and app for phone. No mention of anything else needed.    However the setup says SteamVR also required. No problem. it  is already installed.
Tether phone, get both PC and phone communicating amd ....nothing with FSX Steam.
2. Next: install FlyInside whose instructions (Wiki) make no mention of ANY other software    needed. No luck at all there. SO, also install VRidge and RiftCat.
Try various start routines: Vridge then Rifcat, Flyinside, then Rifcat/vridge/FI..etc
3.So far I have made it to the FlyInside VR screen, chosen "center" and "action" buttons, but   rarely get past the "waiting for simulator" screen.

My Setup: Win7 Ultimate, Nvidia 1060, Intel i7 at 4.3Gh, 35" Vizio HDTV
 EzDok v2 disabled, anti-virus off.

It is truly humbling for a man with three degrees in mathematics, builds his own computers, owned three planes, and is unable to figure out how to get VR to work.
If someone will show me the way to "Virtual Reality For Dummies" I will truly appreciate it.
