January 4, 200620 yr Will an installation of 9.1 increase the stability of the sim without:adversely effecting add on scenery such as FSSceene, USA Roads, etc, and any negative effects on add-on aircraft such as flight 1, dreamfleet, and eaglesoft.I am interested in unbiased facts regarding this update not a flame war. I am aware of previous posts, but most of those were opinions and not very useful.
January 4, 200620 yr I have never had an issue with any addon after the update, just so ya know.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
January 4, 200620 yr I have products from Flight1, Dreamfleet and Eaglesoft. No issues. Scenery add-ons that are mesh related may appear better, as the max vertex level supported was increased as part of the update. The only adverse scenery issues I can think of may be bridge related. FS2004 left out quite a few and many users chose either 3rd party bridge add-ons or a port of FS2002's bridges to fix the problem. The 9.1 update adds the "missing" bridges back in.9.1 has been out so long and on so many of our systems that it is pretty much a "must have".In addition, search the forums for "recorder.dll". This is a freeware add-on (still considered a beta I believe) which adds robust flight recording ability to the sim. I call it the "9.2 update" :)-John
January 5, 200620 yr One note of caution, but it's been mentioned before - Make sure you actually do get a full installation of the patch - it can report it's completed when it hasn't. Just look at the properties of FS9.exe or hover the mouse over it after you've run the patch and make sure it is the latest version 40901.you should also replace the FS9.exe with the original if you are using the No-CD crack, BEFORE you run the patch.Hope this helps!Allcott
January 5, 200620 yr Also don't forget to make certain that your version of FSUIPC is 3.41 or greater, the update to FS9.1 requires FSUIPC. Current version is 3.53, as I remember.Ed GreenKCLThttp://www.panelshop.com/DEV.jpghttp://www.oncourse-software.co.uk/forum_images/fdc_beta.jpg
January 5, 200620 yr very helpful--thanks much folks--AC is the one I forgot to mention, I knew there was an add-on that was specific in ensuring an install to 9.1.
