Why is P3D v3 so dark?

Now whilst the scenery has taken on a much brighter look with it off my current settings do include some tweaking in PTA. I think I need to restore default shaders and have another think about whether it's better on or off. Huge difference obviously. But why does HDR makes everything look like you have Ray-Bans on?

Well not here and I wouldn't trade HDR off from a graphics perspective  ;-)

But why should the user have to go through so much effort just to get an acceptable display?

It's nothing to do with calibration. If users want to spend money doing that fine but I know how to adjust a display to get decent contrast, brightness and colour. That is all that is required for the vast majority of users.

Has LM even provided any guidance on how best to produce an acceptable display? Having to learn a 3rd party utility just to get a half-decent image is crazy. If they're going to add HDR then provide some guidance. Or is this the price we pay for buying something that is not classed as an entertainment product?

I agree here Ray I will wait for V4 with updated lightning which will be hopefully more modern based on the current time and techniques
