April 18, 20179 yr Google Earth VR is now available in the Oculus Store meaning for any Oculus Rift users you no longer need to mess around with the HTC Vive version found in Steam. Haven't had the chance to try it out myself yet but looking forward to! To me this is one of the most amazing VR apps I've tried so far being able to go anywhere in the world in VR to check out places, airports, landmarks or whatever. Not everything will be in full 3D/VR but I guess/hope the coverage will be improving as we move along. If you have the VR gear I highly recommend you try this one out if you haven't already.

April 18, 20179 yr Author Just tried it out and it's working really good and I was very happy to find there's now also a search feature included Not sure though how to exit properly because I couldn't find an exit option so I used the Oculus system menu button and then picked the home icon (the little house) but exiting like this resulted in a message telling me the app didn't exit correctly. Another thing was I couldn't find a way to have a mirror on the 2D display what's happening in the VR headset. That would have been nice. Both these things are minor issues though and overall like I said above this is a really amazing app! Very fun to use and being a flight simmer it becomes even more useful since you can check out all sorts of things and what they look IRL such as airports, scenery etc. Truly a must-have app IMO!
