Problem with OpenStreetMap.

Featured Replies

Bonjour,

I would like to know if there is a problem with the connection to OpenStreetMap servers as I always have the "Waitting for data" displayed.

May be they have changed something in the way to get data as I have this problem since several days.

Thank You

Best regards

Hi Claude,

Looks like the maptiles.xyz service is out of service.

Copy the attached file here https://www.dropbox.com/s/qha7m8bjheaazu0/openstreetmap.dgml

to .../Little Navmap/data/maps/earth/openstreetmap/

Create a backup of the original file first.

This file will tell Little Navmap to download the map data directly from the OpenStreetMap servers.

I'll pin this post.

Hi Alex,

It is working now.
Thank you very much for your quick answer.

What was the benefit of using maptiles.xyz as it seems to only be a cache of OSM ?

Cheers

I still get the blurry no streets even after installing the file. And the waiting for data.

The off line was unchecked. Thanks.

Maurice,

did you copy the file to the right location overwriting the original one?

Also when you zoom in very close it can take a while because the map tiles are rendered on the server while the higher zoom levels are just downloaded.

"Waiting for data" can also appear at lower zoom levels where no data is available or at locations where hill shading is not available.
