May 10, 20179 yr Hi Guys, Im having this issues with FSX since I bought my new PC. Turns out basically during sunrise/sunset and specially at nights the textures of the Sky and Clouds mostly look kinda grainy and also nights are way too bright. The sky seems to have some kind of lines in it. Im pretty sure it has something to do with my Monitor Settings since Im using a Samsung LED Monitor with HDMI connection to my graphics card and I just took a couple of screenshots and sent them to my iphone and when I saw them there the nights were perfectly dark and the grainy textures disapeared. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. May 10, 20179 yr Yeah that is the dithering on your monitor. Probably a TN panel too.... I bought a cheap 144hz one and boy, do I regret it. The color banding you describe is a "feature" of 6 bit cheapish TN panels. No way to fix that apart from getting a better monitor, I am afraid. As I have two smaller screens than my panel that has your problems, I can see a direct comparison when I move my sim window from one screen to the next. All of a sudden, my night is dark and looks good on one screen and terrible on the big TN panel My old BenQ does not have the problem. It is smaller, but I went back to use that, because o what you describe.
May 10, 20179 yr Author Hello Deimos, Thanks for the information. Didn´t even know there was such thing as a TN Panel, I just bought it when I bought my PC. I do have another LCD Display from my other PC but the thing is it uses a VGA cable and my new PC doesn´t have a connection for that one. I think my last option would be either to buy a new one or start messing up with settings or something. Thank anyways, Best Regards SIM: P3DV5.3 CPU: Intel Core i7-4790k @ 4.0GHz GPU: GTX1060 6GB OS: Windows 10 64Bits RAM: XPG DDR3 1600 16GB (2x 8GB) Display: Samsung LC27JG50QQLXZX 27´
