GSX not supported?

Featured Replies

There are 2 documents in MCE that deal with Ground communication, GSX&AES.pdf and Grnd_cmd.rtf.

When I say any of the:

Quote

Ground from flight deck

Ground engineer from flight deck

Ground mechanic from flight deck

Maintenance from flight deck

Engineer from flight deck

Assistance from flight deck

Mechanic from flight deck

Technician from flight deck

I'm heard and Ground gets back to me.

But when I say anyting from GSX&AES I'm igrnored.

MCE ignores my calls in a networked config from either RC4 and PF3, now it doesn't want to communicated with the ground crew.

What is wrong with me?

Do I need a rewrite of my code or...?

Please advise.

Thanks,

Dirk.

Btw I could not find in GSX&AES.pdf how to set up MCE and GSX to communicate with the ground crew. There are only phrases to speak.

How am I supposed to know how to set up for MCE to work with GSX?

Thanks,

Dirk.

In "Advanced Options" MCE panel, unless you have ticked option "Use AES", by default MCE will always connect to GSX.

You don't need to do anything. On starting MCE, and assuming engines aren't running and you're parked at the gate, MCE will attempt to kick start GSX.

A local ramp agent will introduce him/herself. You can then make requests as per "AES&GSXducument.pdf"

One important thing is to leave the GSX text output to green bar active.

Since there is no SDK, MCE relies on it to work out what's going on.

GSX outputs "Waiting for action: Open cargo door CD1", Mechanic opens it

GSX outputs "Waiting for action: close service door S2, MCE cabin crew will close it.

Basically, MCE catches any message and acts accordingly.

Is that FSUIPC multi-line green bar?

Thanks,

PS: I went through most of MCE/GSX posts on the forum. Too bad there is no consistent documentation or tutorials but thanks again for your prompt answers. Must be a torture for you each time.

My GroundServicesMode=GSX in mce.ini

Is that correct?

Thanks.

I don't hear a local ramp agent introduces him/herself at the start. Just GSX window (Ctrl+F12) pops up shortly.

What is the correct setting in MCE.ini for introduction?

Thanks,

Dirk.

Just 'Cockpit to Ground' is answered only.

I changed to My GroundServicesMode=Native (?? which is counter intuitive) and now I'm greeted by Dieter.

"Despatch we would like to begin passenger boarding" - ignored.

Now what?

Thanks.

Now, with My GroundServicesMode=Native in MCE.ini Dieter starts working with me on Boarding. He answers, communicates, GSX menu pops up and stays on the screen. Am I supposed to mouse click or what?

Thanks.

MCE is supposed to automatically click menus depending on request.

Unless, somehow, something is taking focus out of the sim and the key combo doesn't reach its destination.

Do you have GSX (and RC4 ATC) windows undocked or something?

GSX is expected to send notifications to green bar, at the top of the screen when not undocked.

Which bar do you exactly refer to? Could you call it in 'scientific' terms? ))

RC4 is not running at all, while waiting for your updates. I have full hands trying to figure out how to MCE-control GSX services, let alone rc4...

I have no idea how to undock GSX select service window. It just pops up, stays then unloads.

Ok, little by little: in FSUIPC multiline display window box must be ticked.

But then again the script stops in Service provider select window 1 or 2 (different companies). No problem with that, I do nothing and GSX selects the default choice. Wooof.

Thanks.

Gerald, why don't you explain once and for all what option boxes should be checked on FUIPC's About tab window? I'm afraid I'm already confused with your naming them GSX, RC4 ATC windows, green window etc.

The window options on FSUPC/About tab control which message windows pop up and which message windows get suppressed. So, they are:

  • FSUIPC multiline display window
  • Suppress multiline in FS's window
  • Hide all single line messages

Could you take a look at your settings there.

Thanks,

Dirk
