Bugs in cherokee

Recommended Posts

Issues with piper Cherokee gauges and switches (have reported using DT bug report form, but list them here in case I am incorrect or somebody knows easy fixes):

Airspeed Indicator says "knots" but is actually reading in miles per hour, mph. The tooltip value does read the correct value in knots.  This is important since during the PPL lessons the instructor gives speeds in knots.

Vertical speed indicator is incorrect (three times too small).  Tooltip value does read correctly.  This is also a problem in several other aircraft.

Landing light switch doesn't work (all lights can be turned on using the L key, but the cockpit switch does nothing)

There doesn't appear to be any switches in the cockpit for operating the strobe and position lights (L does turn them on/off)

EGT temperature gauge appears to be wrong...it is pegged all the way to the right during normal flight operation

I already reported that way back when Flight School came out.

They did nothing....

That's not a good sign...

Its not enough for the planes to look pretty, they have to be functional.  One easy way for DT to fail to capture regular, experienced simmers is to put looks ahead of function, and ignore the fidelity of their sim.  Yeah, they'll get some new people to try it who don't know better, but that won't be enough to sustain the sim long term.
