New- Scenery gateway question

Featured Replies

Question:

When I go to the scenery gateway, there seems to be multiple files uploaded for each airport.  There is one that is "recommended".  I'm assuming the recommended one is the one that is in the default scenery?

Usually yes. Only when those recommended airports are very new it might be the case that they aren't in the default scenery yet - LR will push them to you via regular updates eventually, so there's basically no need to take action.

the other day I landed at KDAL and there were no buildings there.  KDAL appears to be a completed airport though.

Will all of the 'recommended' airports at the gateway be included in the updates or do we have to specifically download them?

this is directed at domae001 BTW...or anyone who knows really.  thanks in advance.

KDAL seems to be a very recent submission (approved on 4/27), so that might be a case where it gets pushed to you automatically at a later stage. (When exactly I do not know, but LR have promised to do this regularly in conjunction with normal updates.) As the necessary tools for better scenery creation have only been released recently, you might see a lot of airport additions and changes soon!

TL;DR: If you want it now, you'd indeed have to download the recommended version manually.

Thanks, domae.  I'll just wait.  Im enjoying what Ive got.
