  1. Quite awesome. The only thing you need to do is approach Asobo to use LNM by default in MSFS!
  2. Louis: I'm glad I'm not the only one having difficulty installing the GN750 in the Phenom! Followed Bert's directions to the letter but still getting a black screen where the GN750 should be, even in the pop-up panel. Mod is working great in the Hawker and the Kodiak quest I have, not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm otherwise OK with using the G1000. Any way to just replace the AP with something else? Chuck
  3. Wow. The Pago Pago Orbx scenery is exactly what the doctor ordered! Thanks. What is the PNG package?
  4. I've been flying the daylights out of Orbx PNW and SE Alaska scenery after switching to P3D a few months ago. Interested in some flying around the tropics as a change of pace, and wondering if there is any scenery that you would recommend that would be compatible with P3D?
  5. Thank you. Is FSS modeled in P3D? I usually contact Anchorage center, then I'm told to contact Ketchikan traffic, but I don't hear any instructions.
  6. I assume I will purchase the GTN 750. I also assume your mod replaces the MFD screen of the Kodiak with the GTN 750. Does the PFD change?
  7. Bert: Thank you. I was a bit confused since Garmin makes both. I just read your review of the Lionheart Epic Victory, so I was suprised you mentioned the Carenado instead. I am currently flying the Kodiak Quest and love it, but I'm looking to break into a smaller jet. What do you think? I has the G1000... Chuck
  8. It's hard to tell on the forums, but I assume you are being sarcastic and the two websites are actually the same company. I guess I don't understand why they don't release the Mustang for P3D but I guess I'm no the only one that shares that sentiment. I agree the Hawker feedback is indeed very mixed. I think I will stick to the Duke, but if you have a corporate jet to suggest, please let me know. Here's a stupid question: when someone refers to the G1000, does that include both the PFD and MFD screens, or just the GPS part of the "glass cockpit". I noticed on the Duke, it has a GPS screen but uses analog dials for the pilot information. Is there a "glass cockpit" that uses the GTN 750? Thanks again
  9. Thanks. I guess there is Flight 1 software and Flight 1 tech, two different companies! Sorry for the confusion. The Hawker may just be the answer, however, I can't find it on the Carenado website. Is it released or still in developement?
  10. Question for anyone that purchased the Turbine Duke for P3D: I keep seeing that the Duke has "complete support for the GTN 750 from Flight 1". I assume that means I need to purchase this separately. However, isn't Flight 1 the company that is not supporting P3D? I remember this when I was considering the Citation Mustang. Does the GTN750 work with P3D? If not, what is the "default" GPS? Anyone have suggestions for a powerful turbine or corporate jet that uses the G1000? Thanks in advance.
  11. Recently started with P3D after flying FSX many moons ago. Love the Orbx sceneries and I've been flying all around southern Alaska since I just came back from vacation there. I'm using the Rex essentials for weather and typically the weather is pretty poor around there, so I've been working on my IFR runs. The problem is I see only 2 airports with towers in all of Southern Alaska, Juneau and Anchorage. I flew into Ketchikan and I know there's a tower there, but it isn't modeled on ATC. I know there are a number of add-ons for ATC, but do they add tower communications to airports that are lacking in P3D? Thanks
  12. Sorry about the confusion. I was meaning to say that REX + Orbx in P3d did not look visually different than REX + Orbx in FSX. I fly low and slow so only fly Orbx regions. Perhaps I will give it another go. Is there any guides to properly setting up P3d out there so I know I'm seeing what I need to see?
  13. I'm sure there are ways to make this work. Guess I'm just lazy and FSX still works for me. I'm sure P3D will be a must do in the future, but not sure the added effort equals the pay-off right now...
  14. After installing both Orbx and REX, I really didn't see any tangible difference with P3d. Also, my favorite plane for Alaska travels, Kodiak Quest Sea plane, didn't have working MFD's in P3d. I ended up uninstalling for now...
  15. Thank you. I am in the process of downloading updated installers. I opened P3D and was surprised how much it looked like FSX- guess I shouldn't have been but I thought they would make some changes with the layout/menus to make it more intuitive. Hope this is worth it....
  16. I see. A little more complicated than I thought.
  17. Been running FSX awhile now and I recently purchased Prepar3d. Questions: 1. I understand my Orbx scenary will work with P3D but I will need to install the Orbxlib P3D file. Do I do this after each scenery install or after I have finished all the installations? 2. I have REX essential w overdrive installed. DO I just point the program to P3D instead of FSX or do I reinstall? Thanks
  18. I ended up cloning my SSD to my 1TB drive using EaseUS ToDo. This was a free and quite handy little utility that you can also use for back-ups. Windows start up was a bit longer, as well as FSX load times, but not very significant. As expected, no significant changes to my FSX experience. Obviously, CPU, OS and memory changes were more significant. Anyone want to buy a SSD?
  19. This is great, Rodd. Thanks.
  20. Thanks, I may try that. I can clone to the large drive, then uninstall FSX, then reinstall FSX on the SSD with millions of add-ons, AGAIN. This really s***ks...
  21. Ugh! I just spent the week building this new system and installing all the programs. I think I'll need to pass on re-installing windows for now. You can only copy a hard drive to the same type/size drive, correct?
  22. I downloaded it. Just what I was looking for!
  23. After taking advice from a number of posters here, I upgraded my CPU, added a SSD and changed to a 64 bit operating system. Went from averaging 30 FPS to well over 120, so it was a success. However, I purchased a 120GB SSD and it's already close filled with just the operating system, FSX, Orbx add-ons and REX. I think I'll switch REX to the traditional hard drive as I only use it to load textures. Anyone suggest something I can do to free up additional SSD space?
  24. Can anyone tell me how I can start a new flight from where I left off after I exit FSX? I want to fly a series of legs on my flight but not at one sitting...
