Global Base Pack and openLC North America

Featured Replies

I am about to purchase P3Dv4 and once I get it set up, plan on purchasing Global Base Pack and openLC North America as the first addons.  Then I will proceed with different 3rd party airport scenery and PMDG a/c.

My question:  How much impact does Global Base Pack and openLC North America have on your P3Dv4 system?

Thanks.

Spoiler

My specs:  AMD Ryzen 5 5600X @ 3.7 GHz, 32 GB 3200MHz DDR4, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 12 GB, 2TB SAMSUNG EVO Plus SSD M2, 2TB WD Black Gaming SSD M2, 8TB WD Black Gaming HDD, 4TB WD Black Gaming Ext HDD, Windows 10, X-Plane 12 + large quantity of 3rd party addons scenery & aircraft. Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo, Thrustmaster TFRP. It's an older machine but gets the job done quite nicely - smooth with no stutters!

The Global base will not have any effect as it just replaces the default ground textures and are the same size as default.

OpenLC also shouldn't have any effect as it's just a landclass products that tells the sim where to place the ground textures to display farms, urban areas, cities, forests, etc.

Orbx Vector can create some performance issues if you turn on too many options, just like UTX,  but at least you won't have to worry about the VAS issues with v4.
