January 29, 200620 yr Hey folks,The flying hours is rising, especially in the cockpit of the PMDG 737NG!I have tough been wondering, (and might have seen) an edit of the main panel which brings the overhead lights-section to the 2D panel..Was this ever released, or anybody remember this? - It would make things alot easier to controll the lights without opening the Overhead!Cheers, THOMAS LORENTZEN | OSLO, NORWAY | i7 [email protected] | ASUS P8Z77 Mobo | 8GB DDR3@1600 | nVidia 580GTX | 1x Intel X25 160GB SSD for FSX | 2x 1TB WD | Samsung 204T 24" LCD HD | Coolermaster V8 CPU Cooler | Win7 64-bit|
January 29, 200620 yr My solution is to keep the overhead open on a second monitor. Once you try that, you'll never go back to just one!! ;-)CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
January 29, 200620 yr Author Hi Bob,I have recently got two monitors set up, and once tried the dual monitors in FS by dragging another view to the second monitor. I noted that the frame rate hit of what I was doing was substantial. I note that many folks do use multi monitors with FS9. Is there a trick to doing this? I did a search here at the time with the assumption that I was doing it wrong, since I had the fps issues, but didn't see anything the defined just how this is done.Thanks- Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. January 29, 200620 yr Bruce; I use a dual-head nVidia 6800 Ultra. If you have any dual-head nVidia card, you can use the supplied nView utility to set up the two monitors as a single double-wide display area (called horizontal-span mode). You'll have to run FS in windowed mode on one side, but both monitors are part of the same 3D-accelerated desktop that way, and frame rate hits are negligent on my machine. I run 2560 x 1024 on two 22" NEC flat-screen CRTs, with FS running in a 1280x1024 window on the left monitor. It works quite well.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
January 29, 200620 yr Author Thanks Bob,Yes, I do have an nVidia 6600GT (PCI-e). Maybe I need to look a the CD that came with tthe card, I opted to use 3rd party drivers (Omega) so didn't even open the CD :)Thanks- Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
January 29, 200620 yr May I suggest FSP Panel Studio. Its a wicked little program and you will wonder how you did without it. All these panels with 10 pop-up windows....reduce them to 2 or 3..or nothing! Put everything on the main panel :)Theres a free trial that is unlimited. The only restriction is that you cannot save the panel edits. Give it a whirl:http://www.fspanelstudio.com/
January 29, 200620 yr Bruce; Don't bother with the CD...they're obsolete by the time you get 'em. You can get current (and beta) drivers at www.guru3d.comI'm using 78.01 right now. nView comes together with the nVidia drivers.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
January 30, 200620 yr Author Hi Bob,Just getting back to this after dinner, etc.I do have another questiom. I have my desktop properties set to be able to extend my desktop onto my second monitor. This is what I am using to drag stuff onto, I just drag it off the (right) edge of mty primary monitor and it appears on the left edge my second monitor.So- do I leave this working the way it is?- or does the nView application replace this for all my applications? Ie- do I need to uncheck the box in Desktop/Properties to siable extending my desktop?Thanks- this multiple monitor stuff is very new to me, but I can see the advantages of it.Bruce. January 30, 200620 yr Bruce; Not sure what you're asking. I use the PC configured with nView all the time. One of the options buried in the nView menu is a window control button that allows quick-swap from one monitor to the other...another is a maximize on-current monitor icon. It's very handy to have a web browser open on one side...just slick the icon and it zaps over to the other side. I'm assuming you know to right-click the FS windows...then select "Undock" and then drag that window to the other side. Lots of great possibilities. Flying an airliner with the FMS and overhead panel up all the time...the AeroWorx B200 with a bunch of those pesky pop-ups parked on the right side etc.CheersBob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
