Return to the Kokoda Trail

Featured Replies

For the final flight in our "Down Under" series (unless someone's going to cook up something...), we make a return to the airstrips located along the Kokoda Trail.  Departing from Girua we go to Kokoda, from where where we can pick up the trail to cross the mountain ridge. We stop first at Myola then continue into the cluster of airstrips servicing the communities on or near the trail.  Most of these make last week's landings look tame by comparison, so a bush capable aircraft is recommended, as is some practice to avoid embarrassment!  Having either conquered these strips or littered the region with aluminium, we conclude the flight at Jacksons international airport.

Flight plan (.PLN format) available here.

Optional

At the conclusion of this flight, you might like to depart from Jacksons in your favourite long distance ride, heading either home or to a destination of your choice.  I plan to head to Dubai in an Emirates 777.

Scenery

The flight plan is based around Orbx's Jacksons package, for which FTX Global BASE Pack and the freeware Orbx PNG mesh are also required.

I thought you'd be the first to jump at that!  Haven't you got something you could fly back to Cairns or Brisbane for a week on the beach?

I think I'll have the AeroLogic 777F from Jacksons to San Francisco.

Apologies for my throwing my toys out of the pram last night. It was one of those days. Not that that is an acceptable excuse but it's all I got!
