July 5, 20178 yr Am I correct that all add-on airports, etc. should be placed in the Documents/Prepar3D v4 Add-Ons folder?
July 5, 20178 yr Moderator NO!. This is where the new system has gotten many people confused. The ACTUAL airport, aircraft , etc can be placed ANYWHERE you have room on your system. What you need in the V4 Addons folder is an add-on.xml file that contains the link info for the add on. Browse the first stickied post in this forum for more info. July 5, 20178 yr Author I am very happy to report that I got it figured out. I installed one of my FSDT airports and then copied the XML file making the necessary changes for my KATL. I placed KATL in the same add-on directory used by FSDT making an ImagineSim folder. Not too complicated - but I'd hate to be a novice trying to tackle this. Thanks a lot Vic!
July 5, 20178 yr Moderator Chuck - did you use Lorby's add on tool? It's free and it does most of the work for you. middle of the page - http://lorby-si.weebly.com/downloads.html The way I do it now - I either unzip or install my new scenery/aircraft to a dedicated add on folder or a large drive. Then run the P4AO (Lorby) and point it to that location - the tool will create the folder and the xml file. In the case of scenery, you can either specify a layer# or just move it down the list manually. Have fun! Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
