Boeing 747-41R cn32746/1336 N583BC WFBN ferried 08jul17 MZJ-SBD for part-out & scrap ex G-VROC

source: Skyliner

That's odd. They took a scrapped, engineless 744 and made it airworthy to scrap in CA?!

Airworthy may be a strong word. They flew it, but many things can be flown while not being airworthy with a ferry permit :-)

In Phoenix?

Yeah. Out of their DVT base. My friend and I worked at Cutter together, but I think I was at TransPac working the dispatch desk at the time.

Did you see that moron fly his eggshell R44 with a bride-to-be, her brother and a female photog from VMC to IMC into a tree line, killing all on board?  South America IIRC.  Senseless act of stupidity.  Recent news story.

Yep. Sad.

Nice.  I only live about 6 miles north of DVT.

Small world. I flew through there a few months ago as part of bringing a PA44 out to CCR. Used to live by the Costco right there by where (the) 101 meets (the) 17.
