Airworthy may be a strong word. They flew it, but many things can be flown while not being airworthy with a ferry permit :-)

Small world. I flew through there a few months ago as part of bringing a PA44 out to CCR. Used to live by the Costco right there by where (the) 101 meets (the) 17.
