July 16, 20178 yr I assume that many people have now made the jump to P3D v4 and enjoying all its 64-bit goodness. I'm also assuming that many people use TrackIR. My question to those people is: how do you control the camera in external view? For FSX and up to P3D3, I use a utility called JAB_FSX.exe which automatically disables TrackIR when you switch to external views. This enables you to control the external camera with keyboard keys or joystick hat, instead of the camera swinging about wildly with your head movements. (Most flight sims do this natively, like X-Plane, Aerofly, DCS World, even FS9, but not FSX or P3D) Unfortunately JAB_FSX is 32-bit and the author has stopped supporting it, so no luck getting it to work in P3D4. i7-12700KF, RTX 3080 12GB, 64GB DDR4 3600MHz, ASUS PG348Q 34" ultra-wide monitor, Track IR 5, HP Reverb G2, Windows 10 64-bit
July 16, 20178 yr I just pause TrackIR when I go to an external view and use my joystick hat to pan around. Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

Yes I used to do that too, but it works so much better if you don't even have to think about it, just happens automatically, which is what JAB_FSX does in FSX. Really hope that someone updates that utility for 64-bit, or LM builds the feature into P3D4. i7-12700KF, RTX 3080 12GB, 64GB DDR4 3600MHz, ASUS PG348Q 34" ultra-wide monitor, Track IR 5, HP Reverb G2, Windows 10 64-bit
July 16, 20178 yr You can try external camera programs like ChasePlane and Ezdok that allow you to create external cameras that have options to enable/disable TrackIR.
July 16, 20178 yr Author Thanks molleh, yes I have tried Ezdok and you're 100% right, it does do the job. I just find it a really complicated and cumbersome program to work with. I'm a bit of an aircraft collector and chop-&-change them all the time. It became such a pain in the backside to set up cameras for each new aircraft every time. I tried to find ChasePlane the other day, but it doesn't appear to be released yet? i7-12700KF, RTX 3080 12GB, 64GB DDR4 3600MHz, ASUS PG348Q 34" ultra-wide monitor, Track IR 5, HP Reverb G2, Windows 10 64-bit
July 16, 20178 yr No problem! I don't have Chase Plane, but AFAIK it's been in some sort of alpha/beta "pre-release" state where you can still buy it and use it, but expect some bugs while it's being developed. That being said, I know a LOT of people here use it and love it.
