July 17, 20178 yr Hey guys this question is for a friend of mine. I will be assisting in this SSD swap and I want to make sure we know exactly what we are doing before the swap and avoid any data loss or system down time. The Setup: Cloning his Samsung 850 EVO SSD 500gb to an Intel PCI-E SSD. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167359 The drive only has Windows 10 and a fully setup P3D installation with all the addons you can list. What would be the best way to approach this? Clone Image utility? Acronis image backup? Any info would be great guys. @Rob Ainscough Angelo Cosma PPL ASEL / IFR Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Field Service Representative (SEA) ZSE ARTCC Intel i7 6700K 4.8Ghz / ASUS ROG Maximus Hero VIII / 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz Ram / EVGA 1080Ti FTW3/ Corsair H110i GTX EVGA 850 Watt Gold / Samsung 850 500gb SSD
July 18, 20178 yr Actually, I just added a 960 PRO 512gb for my c: drive, and the 850 Pro 256gb I had for it is now my new FSX drive (was a 830). I just used Macrium Reflect to clone both to their new drive, and worked like a charm. I'm sure Acronis has the same. Sean B.
