Reboot - How Did I Live Without It?!
Hi All: Bryan...absolutely fantastic product...thank you very much for all your work on this. So many features and changes! My NGX has been hangared since you announced you were doing this, and after using the 777 since then, have really come to enjoy the voice product for it. So far, I've only used SOP1, but will be getting to SOP2 later today! If there was one thing I'd like to see, though, that is available in the 777 version, is the ability to use voice to direct the FO to change speed, heading, and altitudes in the MCP whilst on the ground. I realize the fact that the PF is the only one that should change the MCP, but after having that feature in the 777, I've come to miss it in Reboot! Again, thank you for a great product! Sean

Asus AMDA00 Interface....How To Delete?
Hey Jim! Thanks for the info...I have run the cleaner program, and AMDA00 still won't go away. I only get the error once after booting, so it appears that error is just a boot timing/driver load issue. But it's one of the few remaining errors I'd like to get rid of! Just for kicks, I tried downloading the Cleaner again, and I don't know what's different than before, but now my Norton 360 desparately HATES that file....it's deleted it twice. Malwarebytes didn't have any problem with a single scan, but N360 won't let me do anything with it. I think I'll try to look some more for problems with this.....thanks again! Sean

Asus AMDA00 Interface....How To Delete?
I upgraded my system with a i7-4770K CPU and Asus Maximus VI Formula MOBO on Dec 14th, and am finally getting to the final stages of resolving the last of the Event errors plaguing my system. When I re-installed Win8Pro64, I used the MOBO disk to load all the ancillary drivers and such, and happened to also load AI Suite III, which was a total mistake that I didn't remember that from my earlier days. I have run the Asus AISuite3 uninstaller, but can't seen to get one last crumb gone: the AMDA00 interface. With little to go on Google-wise, I see that it is related to AISuite3, and some comments simply advise to delete it. But it's the proverbial boomerang- it just installs itself again, then generates Event Viewer messages that WUDFRd can't load the driver.. I suspect from the lack of web content that this is a fairly new issue, although I did find some references to AISuite2. Trying to use Asus' Forum to interact is just a horrible waste of time- I can't even get the website to let me type a post. I love their products, but their website skills are completely left to be desired. Has anyone run into this? How did you fix [trash] it? Thanks! Sean

Why does FSX run out of memory?
Nice tip! How in the heck did you find this out? I 've looked at FSUIPC's screens for years thinking they might have well been written in Greek. ^_^ Any way to check CPU/MB temps with any other values?! Anything else? Thanks!

All VC switches become inactive--seems to be only after using CHKL
I have had this problem as well, and was thinking this was going to be one of those "OMG- will I ever find the answer"-kinda issues. What was strange is that I could mouse around in my other screens where I place displays such as the PFD and HSI, but not my main screen where the VC was. I could even "A" over to the FO view and others, and the mouse was controlling just fine there. Found it was the viewpoint being too far back- by merely resetting it (I have a joystick button dedicated to that), my mouse recovered control. There is a specific distance back that control will disappear, and you don't have to be in back of the headrest to have the issue.

Found out in an embarrising way why my descent rate has been poor
Wow...didn't know that either....switching to PMDG to set that! Schwweeeeet!

Regretful purchases for FSX
As "telling" as this summation might be, I (and I'm betting many others) will have a hard time with the NGX on that list, and will agree that a percentage of total owners, as you suggested, might be a better indicator. Everywhere I've read about it it's been the most beloved and most accurate of all sim objects. Perhaps its own complexity is the reason for this, given the variety of simmers' experience and knowledge out there? For me, it was a great learning curve, but I welcomed it and it's the only plane I fly now.

Which developper you want to thank for bringing you fun in 2012 ?
Another vote for: PMDG 737NGX FS2Crew 737NGX Then also... GSX REX Essential Plus and last, but not least, Pete and his legendary FSUIPC.

Merging Logbooks?
After seeing a post suggesting that logbooks can be corrupted, I looked at my current one and found that my copying over my old one didn't take when I fully reinstalled my system to upgrade to Windows 8. Googling "merging FSX logbooks" did not yield any discernible results. I had over 3200 hours in my old one since 2008, and I'm up to almost 100 hours in my new one. Is there any way to merge them into one file? Thanks!

StackHash CTD - Possible Fix
Jim: Come to think about it, I did have similar issues when I installed my new SSD in my Sabertooth Z77 system. Getting the proper boot order in the BIOS was a bit contentious. I wish I could tell you how I resolved it, but that was a few brain cells ago! :-) And in the vein of "if it ain't broke don't fix it" theme, things have been running great so far, so if you don't mind, I'm gonna leave my FSX as Win7 Compatible. Any more luck last night? You were up way past your bedtime!!! :-)

FS2crew voice addition for PMDG MD 11
Bryan: I can't thank you enough for responding and rectifying this issue as quickly as you have. It speaks volumes to the integrity of yourself and the FS2Crew organization. This is the type of SUPPORT that I spoke of earlier in another thread, and at least to me, is a major factor in determining if a product is worthy of a purchase. This action now leaves no doubt as to the customer commitment that FS2Crew has to their customers. THANK YOU!

Regretful purchases for FSX
UPDATE!!!! In the same fashion that we've come to expect with great products from FS2Crew, they have confirmed their integrity with a VERY quick resolution to my issue, and it is exemplary! My hat goes off to Bryan and the FS2Crew for clarifying on the product page that the MD-11 version is button only- seemingly within minutes of our conversation. This is all I asked for the sake of those reading this and other threads pertaining to the MD-11 product. I can't thank FS2Crew enough for taking appropriate action on this issue. Thanks to all of you for your contribution to this point.

absolutely Pete...it's a marketing issue that can easily be solved IMHO.

FS2crew voice addition for PMDG MD 11
I thought someone would see it my way! Thanks Randy! no...As I overly admitted I was implicit in the "deal", I thought some clarity for the good of all their potential customers was a good compromise. If you call that extortion, then I'm guilty as charged. Beware, though.... this is a thread multipage thread about customers who wished FS2Crew would've or should've created a voice version. 777fan: by all means, I do believe it was an honest mistake, and I did not list it as regrettable. But I think it's important for the wrong to be righted, hence...my suggestion to be clearer on the product page. Looks guys, I didn't make all this up to be a pest- I am a very diehard FS2Crew customer and all I want to do is make sure that proper depiction of ANY product is given a customer. I must have read through 11 pages of the hype on the PMDG MD-11 thread (didn't pick up on ANY indication that there wasn't voice, but it wasn't about that), decided to buy it, installed it, and went straight to the FS2Crew page to buy the package. I've stated my thoughts as to why I thought I may have been misled, and I stand by those reasons. I don't mean to "extort" Bryan or anyone at FS2Crew, as it is this type of conversation that will either convince them they have a true need or they won't.

Boeing 787 in PMDGs Future?
Very noble Ryan, but I'm just about living on borrowed time now. B) Isn't 40 enough http://nyc787.blogspot.com/ ? Just make sure you fix that generator issue, and we can be flyin' in NO time!

StackHash CTD - Possible Fix
Jim: did you get your system back up and running? I hope so! Can't have our HW guru without a working system and Google! :-) FWIW: I knew I'd forget one of the steps I took to get FSX flying flawlessly...I did use Win8Pro's compatibility checker to set it back to Win7- not XP. It first asks you the last OS that it worked on, so I selected Win7.

Regretful purchases for FSX
Not regrettable, per se, but this is just another example of Buyer Beware. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/339767-fs2crew-voice-addition-for-pmdg-md-11/page__st__50 . For the record, I promised I wouldn't list it as a regrettable purchase, but I never did say I wouldn't post a link to my disappointment of the product's marketability.

FS2crew voice addition for PMDG MD 11
Bryan: With all due respect, you don't advertise FS2Crew MD-11 as "WITHOUT VOICE" either. As I stated in my original post, and I will take full blame for my lack of doing the proper homework, I incorrectly assumed that if the PMDG747 has a voice edition, and the PMDG MD11 was a newer product, there would be voice. I guess I should have spent a couple of hours finding out that "Combo Pack" (which BTW, if you have FSX, why would you also need a FS9 product?) is different from a "Special Bundle Pack" for the NGX, and now I see after installing it that the MD-11 is actually a FS2Crew 2010 product. There is not even small print at the bottom of the product page that it's either a BUTTON ONLY version or a NON-VOICE edition. Couple that with the mention of a UK/Euro Voice set, I don't think it's stretch for one to think it has INTERACTIVE voice included. (I will admit that it doesn't state that a microphone is required equipment, though. But LACK of a mention-or lack thereof-doesn't always necessarily mean the opposite either). With as much as I absolutely love FS2Crew for the NGX, I will not list the MD-11's FS2Crew as a regrettable purchase, AS LONG AS FS2CREW ADMENDS THEIR PRODUCT PAGE TO REFLECT THIS so the next poor smluck doesn't make the same buying mistake I or others did. I think that's a descent resolution, don't you (I mean, until you create a Voice version!). For me, the NGX product's worth is immeasurable. ukflight is correct: my main regret is not realizing it is a Buyer's Beware market, so I guess I should consider the NGX package to have cost me about $66 USD. <_<

FS2crew voice addition for PMDG MD 11
Oh man, I just bought the PMDG MD-11 after "mastering" the NGX with voice, and the next website I went to was FS2Crew to grab the MD-11 set. Now I find out there ISN'T a voice package?! I thought the MD-11 was newer than the 747 (which I bought about a month after buying the NGX)? Why wouldn't voice be a part of it? I guess "Combo" doesn't mean what it used to. The voice version for NGX is just the snizzle. If I had known this, I would have just waited for the 777....now I'm afraid the 11 will just sit in the hanger. Anyone got that thread handy for dealing with a regrettable purchases?

StackHash CTD - Possible Fix
Nuttin' like a good 'ol house cleanin! I am happy to report I have been error free (as far as FSX goes) for another week! Jim: in trying to keep up with some of your other posts regarding StackHash errors and the such, I picked up that you've stated the uiautomationcore.dll fix can be attributed to using menu commands in FSX, which was exactly the cause for my CTDs. I don't think FSX crashed on me without me going into the menu to change something, so there definitely is some correlation. FYI...I was also able to figure out a little overclocking, and though even minor (from 4100 to 4223 MHz CPU), it GREATLY increased my FPS's. I am able to keep them in the high 30's and 40's. Got a little more to do (I'd like 4.5 gHz) but I'll consider myself lucky at this point!

building a new PC: windows 8 or not for FSX
IVANM: you're correct- no changes in Win8 that I can see, although I always run in fullscreen mode. I have posted earlier about being able to set window (or FSX elements such as a PFD) locations within the fsx.cfg file for multiple monitors, but never got any answers- may have been how I framed the question. You've got me going back to that thread to see if I can pose my queston a bit clearer....thanks!

building a new PC: windows 8 or not for FSX
Richard: I should have mentioned that I don't use the eyefinity feature- I just extend the desktop to all monitors. I run my VC on the top 55", and the two 23" I use for ATC, PFD, HSI, and FMC. so, it might be just a totally different use than what you are trying to accomplish with. If you have a Z77 MB, there is a new BIOS out there- if not, I'm sure Asus has upgraded all of them. Hope this helps.

Such a shame....
Brad: After looking at that first shot in your original post, I'd say you got the "X Vegas Earthquake" version! I also have to echo the traffic settings sediment...have you ever been able to actually takeoff from an airport like KSFO? I'd like to have your idle fuel consumption dollars! B) I hope you're finding an answer to your problem. Between Jim and Word Not Allowed, you should be good to go (if not already).
