July 19, 20178 yr I need an advise. Can I have a large photoscenery on an external HD WD 4 gb USB 3.0, or is it better to buy an internal HD. I use P3DV4. /Thomas ESNN Thomas ( Sundsvall, ESNN, Sweden) MSFS 2024, Intel 9 9900K Oc 5 GHZ 16MB, Corsair Hydro H150i PRO RGB 360mm, ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8GB ROG, 2 Corsair Force M2 MP600 1TB+500Gb, ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO Z390 MB, Corsair 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200Mhz CL16, Fractal Design Define S2 Vision, Win 10 Home, BenQ 32" PD3200U 4K IPS monitor A2A Comanche, WB Sim Cessna 152

July 19, 20178 yr I have my P3D 3.4 on an internal 500GB SSD and all my photoscenery on an external 5TB HDD with USB 3.0. Of course I don't have all of my photoscenery at all times activated. But to give you an example: if I have ORBX GEN, Global, Vector plus photoscenery for Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Northern Italy activated ( 260 GB for the photoscenery w/o ORBX), my load time for the first start up is usually around 4 to 5 minutes. If I close down P3D and restart it within let's say 5 minutes, load time goes down to 2 minutes. But that's just me !! Others will have different experiences Btw, these are my specs: i7-4970 @3.60 GHz, GTX 970 Nvidia Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080
