Hello to all:

Before I rush out the door to purchase a Garmin GNS430, is there anybody "out there" who could advise on what can, and cannot, be done with PMDG's custom/native GPS?

I particularly would like to know if it is possible to program a flightplan on the PMDG GPS itself. I have looked at the manuals/tutorials and have not been able to find the answer (Tutorial # 1, for example, uses a previously saved FP)

The PMDG GPS is really just the same thing as the default gps in the flight simulator platform, and for game use it is ok but no serious pilot or flight simmer is going to use it.  I've got the Flight1 GNS650 but it doesn't work in P3Dv4 yet and when they finally revise it they are going to charge for the update.  Therefore, I totally forego the GPS.  That's just my choice but it seems more natural to fly this airplane using pilotage or VOR/ADF if IMC.
