PMDG 777/737/747 When to use LBS instead of KG?

Recommended Posts

I am confused whether I should use KGS or LBS. Does it depend on the airline company? For example if I fly using a US livery, such as United, Delta, American, I will configure the plane to use LBS, and every where else I will use KGS right?

Such as EVA, Vietnam Airlines, Thai Airways, Korean Air, Asiana, those boeings will use KGS?

In general yes, US uses imperial system, while the rest of the world works with metric system (or hybrid as distance measurements are still imperial, like altitude). However, there might be some exceptions as quite a few commonwealth countries still use the imperial system as far as i know (UK switched to metric about 20 years ago, even though liquids are still being measured in imperial units). If i recall correctly though, this doesn't apply for aviation related matters as i believe that ICAO forced everyone to use the hybrid metric system (apart from the USA) to prevent any misunderstandings in international air travel.

So i'd say that every Airline based outside of the US will use metric system for weights
