Changing Max Winds on FSX

Featured Replies

I have had to remove and reinstall FSX and have discovered that the max winds I can ever get are 99 knots. I remember doing something a long time ago to fix that so that if actual winds are, say, 116 knots, the MFD will actually display 116 knots! I'm using AS16 for weather and have winds aloft checked.

It's in AS16 under "maximum surface winds".

I changed that. Still only displays a max of 99 on the MFD.

Did you change the maximum winds aloft as well?

There is no maximum winds aloft in the latest version of AS16, only an option to disable them.   I'm also capped at 99 on the MFD when flying around Irma and I'm using Prepar3D V4, PMDG 737NGX.

On my freeware A330 MRTT and freeware 777, the MFDs show winds in excess of 99 knots. ;)  Well Airbuses and Boeings are different beasts are they not? :D This is in FSX:SE using FSOpen Clouds for real METAR injection and I have payware FSUIPC.
