how to get com 1/2 functioning

Recommended Posts

I was going to write about this when it first came out but did not and do not know why. Just bought the Saratoga on 40% off sale and noticed it did the same thing. Only Com1 or Com 2 on the Audio works at a time. I like to sometimes use Com 1/2 so the ATIS can be listened to while monitoring traffic on Com 1. Came up with this idea and it works. I noticed on the PA31 350Chieftain that it works proper so I copied and pasted to Panel.cfg. Of course you have to own the Chieftain but any functioning Audio in an Alabeo or maybe even a Carenado aircraft will do. I will show the Chieftain in this example.

[Vcockpit02]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=512,512
visible=1
pixel_size=512,512
texture=$Panel_2

//gauge00=Radio_M20R!Radio_GMA340,           13,    4, 484, 94
gauge00=Radio_PA31350!RadioAudio,                      13,    4, 484, 94
gauge01=GAUGE_M20R_RADIOS!Radio_KN62A_DME,      13,  113, 485, 100
gauge02=Radio_M20R!Radio_KR87_ADF,            13,  396, 485, 100
gauge03=Radio_M20R!Radio_KT76C_XPDR,        0 ,  242, 512, 130

gauge04=AlaSound_M20R!CarSound,           0,    0,  1,   1

gauge05=ALAM20R_G530!GPS_WX, 0,0,1,1
//--------------------------------------------------------

In the Saratoga it would be this

[Vcockpit03]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=512,512
visible=0
pixel_size=513,513
texture=$Panel_3

//gauge00=Radio_PA32TC!RadioAudio,    0,  0, 512, 99
gauge00=Radio_PA31350!RadioAudio,            0,  0, 512, 99
//gauge01=DIGTTRANS_PA32TC!transponder,    0,101, 512,130
gauge01=B55_XMLGauges!FBS_GTX330,          0,101, 512,130
gauge02=GAUGEPA32TC!Gauge_ENGINE_DIGVC,  0,232, 349,139
gauge03=GAUGEPA32TC!Gauge_Clock,       350,232, 160,162
gauge04=GAUGEPA32TC!Gauge_Anum_TOP,     0, 391, 512, 57

Just noticed something I had added and will explain.

In some aircraft I put in the Milviz B55 transponder as everything functions on it. OF COURSE you HAVE to own it.

In the Saratoga my gauge01.  If I had noticed that I probably would NOT of showed it or would have put it back for this example to not confuse things. I could just see someone copying and pasting and there transponder is now screwed up because of me. OOOOPS

It comes up a bit silverfish color to other gauges sometimes. I have put it in one of my favorite Carenado P46T Malibu JetProp and others. Some aircraft the color is perfect. I also put the XML Gauge.Cab right into the panel folder so it does not have to go looking for it.

On the Alabeo Audio fix I did NOT do this as Alabeo finding Alabeo does NOT seem to be a problem

Is there a way of creating a mod to get them both working? (for those who don't have the chieftain..)

I was just looking thru the forums and noticed your question. Do you have any other Alabeo or Carenado aircraft? If you do if the audio panel looks the same and functions go into the Panel.cfg and see what they use. Just looking at the Alabeo PA44 Seminole you can see the Audio panel. My fsx takes up to 15 minutes to turn on with 1/2 US in megascenery etc... so I do not know what this audio looks like??

Just came back from the kitchen thinking about your question. Maybe you mean WITHOUT using another aircraft. I think I read one of Bert's forums awhile back that this is "hardwired" into the model. It would have to be fixed by Alabeo. Usually after SP1 you are at the mercy of Owners who fix the BROKEN NEW aircraft.

Correct, I was referring to a fix without another product. Thanks for the reply.

I was finally able to give this a try and it worked quite nicely. However, I also tried doing this with an older Carenado aircraft (Cessna T210 Centurion) and the textures for the radio panel went black. Any suggestions on applying this to older products?
