Pressurization above FL260 Question

Featured Replies

I've got everything set up for proper pressurization (dial set to alt+1000 feet, lever cabin air set to pressure, rate of change switch set to ascend), but at just above FL250, the cabin pressure warning light illuminated. I'm assuming Carenado jacked this bird up like all the others with incorrect pressurization settings?

At 25,000 ft the cabin pressure should be 8,190 ft with 5.5 PSI Differential according to RW performance tables. I would be surprised if Carenado modeled this correctly?

PRESSURIZATION (5.5 PSI Differential)

Actual aircraft altitude - Cabin Altitude

12,000 ft. (3658 m) Sea Level

25,000 ft. (7620 m) 8,190 ft. (2496 m)

29,000 ft. (8839 m) 10,143 ft. (3092 m)

Open the aircraft.cfg and look for the pressurization section:

[pressurization]
//design_cabin_pressure     = 6.3
//max_pressure_differential = 6.3

Then change the values to 5.5 (and don't forget to remove the forward slashes!):

[pressurization]
design_cabin_pressure     = 5.5
max_pressure_differential = 5.5

You might not see the exact handbook values but it works well enough that you'll not get the cabin pressure warning anymore.

Tim
