VFR Flight plan KPDT to KALW at 5500 ft

No Flight Following

Took off and upon reaching the tower radius that state was changed to EnRouteIFR according to the log. I was instructed to contact Approach and upon contact was told I was off course and was given course corrections. I had to cancel IFR to get Approach to stop telling me to change course.

Thanks for the report.

It looks like you were not on a VFR Flight Following plan, so sounds like a bug.  You should have been given something like, "....have a nice flight, frequency change approved".

I'll look into it.
