March 13, 200620 yr That's a point that's been raised on many occasions and, every time, it appears to have a lot of merit. Unfortunately the maths doesn't back it up, which is why the B25 had other distribution systems, but the latest R4D doesn't and, I strongly suspect, the Avenger won't.Cheers,Ian P.
March 14, 200620 yr Dont take my opinion as preaching or me trying to tell you how to run things. I just want your project to go well and hope you achieve your goals. I contributed my little bit and hope to get her soon. I was involved in the B-25 recovery project out of Lake Murray SC. I understand the money and dedication it takes to recover and rebuild one and also just keeping an old bird running. Good Luck
March 14, 200620 yr >...er, Mark? Before anyone else points this out, there are>actually CH distributors around the world, selling at very>similar prices to CH themselves once you figure in delivery.>Transair and RC Simulations are two, in the UK alone... ;-)One or two, yes, Ian. Particularly, in the UK and Europe as CH have no easy alternative to make sales over there. But I'll wager - from experience - that they take a healthy cut. The punter doesn't suffer too badly, no, but the manufacturer cuts his margins appreciably having to sell that way.MAAM-SIM has an arrangement with RC Simulations also.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
March 14, 200620 yr Mark:Hmmm, not sure that I am understanding you.A quick check at CompUSA shows the complete CH Products line, plus Amazon.com has them at nicely discounted prices.Wilson
March 14, 200620 yr Point taken. I was actually going on what CH Products told me personally, but I see they are online with CompUSA, yes. Not in the stores, though, with a few exceptions. March 15, 200620 yr Today I had the time to really spend some time with the DC-3 and it was well worth the wait. I have a LARGE collection of high tech military and commercial planes but these old birds really feel like you are operating a machine rather than mousing a computer.I replaced the sounds, added a custom ground roll and multiple touch down sounds and now she rattles and creaks real good. I downloaded the freighter Bucanero skin which is what sold me on buying this plane. Fits perfectly with my freight/smuggling operations out of the Keys to a secret island base. Having fun with the old girl and recomended to anyone who likes the old school prop jobs.
March 15, 200620 yr Author I have said the same for some time. I would be an instant buyer if the products were sold online. I have heard one reason they only ship CD is that the disks contain manuals, and many other great extras. Frankly...I dont need that. I would pay for a streamlined web download. Put it in the F1 wrapper and the rest would be great. With all the other great downloadable planes, I just dont want to be bothered with a CD.Eric AND
