Route Problem

Featured Replies

The FMC won't "release" my last flight.  The prior flight was KATL-TJSJ but when I load the 747F in KMIA it still shows that flight in the Company Route.  It will not let me send an ACARS command to find/enter a new company route.  I can't delete the old route.  Help please.

Check the top of the RTE page. Are there still airports in there? If so, replace the origin airport with anything (ideally the airport you're currently sitting at) and it should clear everything out.

The old active route will usually stay displayed until the third IRS Mode selector switch is selected to OFF.  This action is part of the normal Shutdown procedure, but it is also used during a transit when all three IRS Mode selector switches are momentarily selected to OFF at the end of the flight and then back to Align or NAV, ready to input the route and performance data for the next flight.
