March 28, 200620 yr Greetings! :)I downloaded several free add on airport sceneries here from AVSIM. I also have one payware (EGLL pro), and I use MyTraffic2004.I recently downloaded two airport sceneries. KMKE and KDTW. Both of these look great, but the AI planes all seem to be offset. They are parked with their noses inside the gates, they taxi and takeoff slightly off the taxiway and runway. When I install these add on sceneries, I DO NOT put the AFCAD files in, thinking that I don't want any other planes (since I have MYTRAFFIC). Not sure if this is the correct thing to do.I've used this method many times with many other free airport sceneries and never had a problem. Only Milwaukee and Detroit. :(I'm sure there's a simple explanation. Well, I hope so lol.. Any advice is greatly appreciated.I've tried different priorities (moving them up and down, doesn't make a difference when adding them).Jeff
March 28, 200620 yr you want afcad files to assign correct parking locations and parking codes. download scanafd also from the library to make sure you have no duplicates
March 28, 200620 yr Each different version of any scenery will need it's own unique AFCAD. You have to find the correct one for this. Regards, Max (YSSY) i7-12700K | Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB 3600MHz DDR4 | Gigabyte RTX4090 24Gb | Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 | Corsair HX1200 PSU
March 28, 200620 yr Thanks for the replies.I guess I have a misunderstanding about what an AFCAD is.I always thought that it was the airplanes that sit at the airport (just for show not really AI).Now if I understand correctly, it's the parking positions? So, if I put the supplied AFCAD file into the correct scenery folder, then the AI planes will change their positions? (I have been leaving the AFCAD files out because I thought MYTraffic took care of that).but I will check with that program you suggested.Forgive me for my ignorance.Jeff
March 28, 200620 yr Hi,Yes, the AFCAD file only provides the airport layout and parking places. Please put it back where it belongs. The Traffic BGL's (found elsewhere) will provide the traffic. Traffic files are rarely included in addon scenery.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
March 29, 200620 yr Author Tom Or Big Al, Let me ask a follow up question to this as it is something that I've been looking for an answer to.I like certain airports because the scenery includes jetways, but it has been my experience that the scenery does not always provide many gates and therefore, not as much traffic. I try to use PAI Official AFCADS because they seem to provide more gates and therefore more traffic (in theory)Question: If I use PAI do I have to sacrifice the jetways or am I going to have to be brave and adjust the parkinking spaces?I fly out of and into KIND and so far i have not found a scenery that will allow me to see as many FEDEX aircraft on the ground as I like.I use f9jets by Patrick Finch and I also like jeff thomas's KIND1jtt.zip. Both are great, but each has a problem with the PAI AFCAD when it come to alignment.Any suggestion? Best regardsJan1,KINDWhen I push the button and it works, I'm happy:-)
March 29, 200620 yr Hi,Two things. First, there are PAI AFCADs available for various addon sceneries - download the other AFCAD package for the addons.Second, if you can't find one that works, adding/moving parking places using AFCAD is one of the easiest things you can do to edit FS - read the manual and give it a try!Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
