weather radar

Featured Replies

is there a weather radar, that i can use on a third pc? already have 1 extra with ivae/ivoa/asv, using widefs.rick

Hi Rick,If you extend your main desktop onto one of the pc screens, then Active Radar can be moved over. I use MaxiVista to do this.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

thanks Jim, but i think it will not reduce the processor load.Yesterday i flew into some thunderstorms, high level build up cumelus nimbus, wich ruined my plane a 747, using real weather/asv6. So i thought a radar would be nice, but i need the fps. I know there are some options like turning off icing etc, but that ain't real. Thanks for yout GREAT program anyway.RickPent 4 3.0 1024 ht/offasus p4c800hd 200gb 4 partitionsmaxtor 7200 rpmati 9800pro 256 cat 5.1221"IIyama crt19" relisys crtwin xp sp2 CH yoke + pedals+ dell laptop for asv ivae etc

Hi Rick,Thanks for that! You are correct, the processor load would not be lightened. The problem is that it needs to be installed into FS04.Edit: I can suggest turning down the Radar Details in Radar Options.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

The old Sim Systems Flightmax has this capability although you do have to be running FSMeteo or an earlier version of Active Sky (I'm not sure if the current ASv6 is still compatible). A short look at the forum for Flightmax here at AVSIM show little new activity and a lot of unanswered questions... it used to be pretty active a year ago when I was still using the Flightmax. This used to be payware but has been freeware since a little after the release of FS2004 and can be found in AVSIM's library. It is basically fully functional in FS2004 and gives the added benefit of being able to display all kinds of charts and traffic. I think the WideFS which you already have is what will allow this to work remotely, I haven't tried to do that myself.

I also use the old FSFlightmax mainly for moving sectionals which I've accumulated for North America and Europe. Spent a great deal of time trying to use ASv6 with the flightmax but no success. Agree it is probably not compatible. ;( Gary

Hi All,One day, maybe over Spring Break I am going to install FSFltMax and see if I can get it to work with ASv6. Maybe one of you could drop me an e-mail to remind me in the middle of April. Better yet, I'll post a sticky note to myself!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development TeamActive Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter

Jim,That would be really great and I probably would start using it again cause I really did like it, just haven't installed it and all (I mean ALL) the charts onto my new computer.BTW if someone could manage to takethe current Avidyne Flightmax EX500 trainer and port information from FS2004 in the same way as the old Sim Systems Flightmax it would be a huge winner.
