After using FS9 for several years I have now suddenly started to get the nasty message 'Your computer has run out of available memory'. It takes about 30 - 60 minutees before it happens and as far as I can remember it didn't start after installing a new addon. After trying several things and searched this forum I have some specific questions1) Can I safely assume that this is a FS9.1 error? I got 1 Gb RAM and more than 30 Gb harddrive space.2) If so must it be a problem with a addon scenery and can I pinpoint it by disabling them one after one?3)After running a program called Flightsim manager and have search landclass files I get an option to relocate files. What makes me hesitant is that the files found are my commercial addon sceneries Megascenery / city titles and Misty Fjords. They have worked without problem before (correctly installed). Can I really safely select the relocate option here?4)How can I find out if I have a duplicate AFCAD file and which to remove?This problem started when doing tutorial flight 003 with LD767 together with radarcontact. But it didn't occur the first time I did it without weather and RC4.Finally what can I do more?

Have you recently re-ordered scenery in your addon scenery list? I got that out-of-memory error on two of my FS9 installs ( I have 4 ) the other day. After reading the forums for ideas the consensis seemed to point to a "bad bgl" or "duplictae afcads". Then I remember having had this error some time back and at that time I went through my scenery.cfg file with Notepad and "put things back in order". I had been moving various scenery items up and down in the list in the FS9 menu and the scenery.cfg file had several gaps in numbering and entries where the "Area.0xx" was different than the "Layer=xy" as a result. I went through and got all the "Area" numbers in sequence and chaged the "Layer" numbers to match. I cases where I wanted certain scenery files to reside in a particular order in the list, I insured this by moving them by hand. I've not had the out of memory error again ( continued a flight on which it occured plus others ) but then I haven't done extensive tests to try to duplicate the conditions. Paul

Try flying the same route. Once you've identified the dups make an informed decision based on which one has the more parking gates and custom gates for airlines.<>No-one to my knowledge has reported this kind of problem with RC4 so I tend to suspect 3rd party scenery especially if you have reported issues with landclass files. But one thing I don't understand it reports my EGLL AFCAD as disabled. I have installed a new AFCAD for EGLL since I otherwise can't find the gate to start the tutorial LDS001 from.

I did suggest you keep things as similar as possible. Disable one scenery area and then fly the same route with the same aircraft at the same time of day. You changed several parameters and resolved the problem so you don't know which of the changes resolved the problem.Cheers,

The program gives you the option of renaming a BGL. Identify which one you don't want to use and rename the extension to BG# so FS9 doesn't pick it up.That is the only safe way of disabling an AFCAD. Deletion is an option but you can't reverse that action should you want to.Cheers,

Could that cause this memory leak?

It's unlikely that US scenery would cause a problem when flying in Europe but any programmer will tell you that when you're trying to debug a program you only change one thing at a time. If you change two and the problem goes away how will you know what resolved it? It is tedious but that comes with the territory I'm afraid.I don't know enough about Ai aircraft to know if that could cause a problem but I would doubt it. Scenery and faulty landclass textures are known to be a problem so look at your 3rd party scenery.Cheers,

And the out of memory event never occured when I did the same flight. But of course the world outside looked much worse without UT Europe. As far as I now UT Europe works for others. So why not me? Of course I wan't to UT Europe enabled. I have paid for it.

Hi,Assuming you have the latest version of UT Europe - 1.01 - then all I can suggest is you visit the UT Forum here and post your findings. I don't get the out of memory problem.
