April 6, 200620 yr Hey Guys!!!I couldn't hold myself and bought a FX55.I bought a Gigabyte GA-K8NSC-939 mainboard (already had a 6800 GT AGP.I installed XP pro and for some reason most hardware drivers are not recognized, even though I installed them from the original CD. The harware wizard starts and keeps itself looking for a driver either forever or until it tells me there's no driver available for the hard I installed. This happened with the sound card, gameport (Mad dog) and network card (generic). The VC card drivers were installed and the VC works correctly.I haven't tried the X45 or the USB yoke yet, but I guess they will work.Anyway, I am new to AMD 939 and a bit lost. What should I do?Thanks in advance.Leo
April 6, 200620 yr I just did a search for that motherboard and found out that it utilizes the nVidia nForce 3 chipset. So, download this here and install it. This is the latest nForce3 chipset driver. Hopefully this should work for you alright!http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce3_winxp_5.11
April 6, 200620 yr Thanks for the info. I had been in the Nvidia site but wasn't sure what to look for. I wonder why Gigabyte.com doesn't have the same.Leo
April 6, 200620 yr Leo I have the same motherboard and at frist installed the drivers from the cd then later on I installed newer drivers from nivida so you sould have no problem installing its very odd you get that error let us know how it went. April 6, 200620 yr Well actually I had some problems with the drivers in the CD too. I installed them and for some reason Windows started crashing. I formatted again and installed XP again with the same result. Finally I had to uninstall the drivers from the CD and install the ones in the gigabyte web site to solve the problem. I will try later with the new chipset drivers and see what happens.Leo
April 6, 200620 yr I have to speak up on this! A little while back I posted a message asking why AVSIM had 2 Hardware forums, as they appeared redundant. Tom responded the one in the Misc forum section has always been there, but people are too lazy to post there, so they added a second one here as a sub forum. (The one in RED almost begging people to post their hardware, driver questions there.) Yet people continue to post Hardware/Driver questions here. This forces the moderators to move it where it belongs, or leave it here cluttering up a forum this type of post wasn't meant for. And he wasn't to happy about it! AVSIM has provided this site for years and never asked a penny to use it, the least we can all do is abide by their rules and post threads in the forums they belong, so the staff don't have to move it there themselves. Personally I would delete them so people will get the message! I could understand newbies doing this, but you as well as others who post similar messages and are long time members should know better!! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
