Instrument lighting and autopilot indicators

Featured Replies

I’ve stumbled across a couple issues that probably need to be reported to Carenado on the PC-12 but I thought I’d ask here first, just in case I’ve missed something in the sim.

On the center console between the seats, there is a switch that turns on backlighting of the flight instruments (altimeter, airspeed gauge, etc.). The light level is way too bright, so much that potions of the gauges are unreadable. The only functioning dimmer control I can find only works for the EHSI. Am I missing one somewhere? Is there a place in the coding where this could be turned down?

The other issue has to do with the 2d pop up of the autopilot panel. When I select HDG, a green HDG should appear above the button. It works correctly in the VC. I think the same problem exists with APR button (I’d have to recheck). Is there a gauge folder for the 2d and VC versions where I could do something about this?

Hi Lantz,

I haven't checked the lighting myself - I seldom fly at night because I have yet to find an aircraft that lights the runway in a realistic manner while on approach... One thing I always do at night is turn the "HDR Lighting" off in your P3D settings... It makes the panel lights look a lot better...

Regards,
Scott

Many thanks Scott, turning off HDR lighting cured the problem.
