April 8, 200620 yr Hi,I had to reinstall FS9 but I have troubles:I removed FS9 via the setup procedure on the CD's and reinstalled it, but now the FS9.1 update refuses to install because "it is already installed". How can I solve this ?Thanks in advance,Hugo
April 8, 200620 yr When you uninstall FS9, at a minimum you need to remove all the fs9 dll's from the modules folder and all the fs9 dll's and exe's from the main FS9 folder. In addition, FS9 may leave it's reg entries behind in HKLM/Software and HKCU/Software. If you're trying to retain add-ons you've installed, look at the dates of the dll's in the modules folder--the 9.1 dll's all have a date of '05 in common--I believe August or September. Just about anything else is likely there due to an add-on.The Uninstall process used by most uninstallers usually won't touch dll's that are different from those originally installed by the installer, kind of like the way our bodies kick out foreign bacteria--the uninstaller doesn't recognize the dll's as it's own. And quite often uninstallers leave the reg entries behind. Hope this helps a little.-John
April 8, 200620 yr The 9.1 patch creates a folder called "Backup" in the main FS9 folder. That has to be manually deleted also before reinstalling the patch (or else it thinks it's already installed).Doug Edited because I can't spel Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage.
