How can I get rid of the ALTN uplink message on the FMC as I am flying long haul

Hi,

You can go to the Alternate airport page of the CDU (button ALTN) and either accept or reject the upload of the alternate airports.
There is an option in the options of the CDU to enable or disable the automatic update of the alternate airports via datalink but I don't have the introduction manual at reach to point you to the correct pages. It is related to the datalink options (winds aloft, descent wind and alternate airports update).

 

actually is: ALTN LIST UPLINK - and I would like to deactivate that feature - is it possible ?

Alternate list is the page two of the ALTN page of the CDU.

Yes, you can disable the auto update (auto uplink) in the options of the CDU.

Have a look at the PMDG options in the CDU. I believe that it is in aircraft but I cannot be sure since I don't have the introduction manual at reach.
But searching for alternate in the introduction manual should revert the correct option.

Correct. The option can be turned off in the PMDG setup pages, through the CDU.

I'm just going to resurrect this for the benefit of future Googlers because it took me ages to find it! 

Specifically, you need to go to MENU > PMDG SETUP > AIRCRAFT > EQUIPMENT > Page 11

and turn off AUTO ALTN LIST UPLINK down at the bottom. 🙂
