January 6, 20188 yr I am requesting climb to flight level 110 (screenshot below), after performing a go around and decision to fly into another airport instead due to poor visibility. However ATC is ignoring my requests to climb to FL110, with no reply possibly as they are not the ones who decide this at this point. I cannot tell if they are ignoring me or not present, however they are there and listening because if I speed up they demand I slow down. It would be nice if there was some sort of indication that my requests are being actively being heard but ignored. Or does green text mean that? http://prntscr.com/hwufsy
January 6, 20188 yr Commercial Member Green text means that P2A has heard and recognized the speech. However, the controller may or may not be equipped to deal with the request. Diversion to alternate airports is not yet supported directly. After a missed approach, the controllers assume you will make another attempt at the filed destination airport and tower should tell you to contact Approach. If you want to divert to a different airport, when you switch to Approach control after a missed approach, you can request vectors to the ILS for RW xx at XXXX (Alternate airport ICAO code) and you should then get vectors to the alternate airport. You may need to request a frequency change to Center before you request the vectors if the alternate airport is not nearby. You should also be able to request the climb to the desired altitude.
January 6, 20188 yr Author Thanks, I cannot at this point recall if I had requested diversion to the other airport or not. I look forward to updates.
