April 29, 200620 yr HiAnyone out there who has experience on the virtual cockpits of these two products? I am thinking about purchasing the C172 to use as a training aid, but since I'm a VC only guy these days I'm a bit worried about the gauge refresh rate.I own the excellent A36 (RXP instruments) and it has a very good refresh in the VC. How does the C172 compare to that?
April 29, 200620 yr The F1 Cessna 172R's VC is close to perfect... of the same caliber as that found in the Dreamfleet Bonanza/Baron. The gauge refresh rate is slower on the 172 compared to the Bonanza rev3, but I find it still very usable and use it myself to brush up on the 172 before doing my BFR or even renting from Hillsboro Aviation. April 29, 200620 yr I agree. The 172R is the clear winner. I find the gauge refresh rates about the same.Rob MorrisonFS Enthsiast
April 30, 200620 yr Author Zane, Rob, thanks for the reports. I find even the default cessna gauge refresh acceptable. The F1 version should be fine then.
