April 30, 200620 yr Hello,I used to have tons of shimmering and the only thing that removed it was lowering the mip mapping from 4 to 3. We have different systems so I can't guarantee it will work but go ahead and give it a go.RegardsAlexwww.fs2crew.comhttp://www.fs2crew.com/betateam.jpg
May 1, 200620 yr Try using either bilinear or trilinear filtering in Settings > Display > Hardware.Martin
May 1, 200620 yr hehehe been there done that hehehe... some people are using legacy program or something like that...
May 1, 200620 yr Try shutting off anti-aliasing in the simulator's display settings, set forced anti-aliasing on your desktop display property settings and do NOT select "Let appllications control antialiasing" on your display driver settings. That's what worked for me. Let the video card control it, not FS.Rob MorrisonFS Enthsiast
May 1, 200620 yr Do you have the "Force MipMap" setting set in your Video card settings to Bilinear or Trilinear? Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
May 1, 200620 yr hi bud l have my trilinear set l think maybe l should changed it hehe Thanks bro... if u think of anything else let us know bud.. again thanksPaul
May 1, 200620 yr >hi bud l have my trilinear set l think maybe l should changed>it hehe Thanks bro... if u think of anything else let us know>bud.. again thanks>Paul Whichever you choose, make sure your FS settings match the video card setting, in fact I think if you set FS for Bilinear and the Video driver to Trilinear, you may actually get CTD's in FS. FWIW my settings are set to Bilinear! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
May 1, 200620 yr HiGo to www.nhancer.com, it claims to get rid of any shimmering! It didn't help me, but I believe shimmering is a system specific problem, so it may work for you, who knows?Turn AA up to max, increase your lod bias, this may help. Its a weired problem, I have tried different monitors, drivers, cards (went from an ATi 1800 to nVidia 7800gtx) - I cannot remove the shimmering from my rig. I feel like ripping everything out and starting from scratch. Some guys have the 7800gtx without an shimmering at all, it seems to be a system specific problem rather than a problem with the card.TED320
May 2, 200620 yr Perhaps understanding what causes shimmering might help determine a solution? What causes shimmering? I never had a problem with shimmering with my old nVidia cards, but my new ATI card shimmers a little.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-) Tom Perry
May 2, 200620 yr > Yeah bud tryed it didn`t work... might have to buy a new card heheheheh thanks budYou may want to wait for the new DirectX 10 video cards to come out, and not buy another DX9 card right now..
May 2, 200620 yr Author My shimmering tests with a Radeon 9800 Pro showed that the most effect to shimmering has the value for "anisotropic filtering" in the driver settings. The higher it is set, the less shimmering is produced (but the lower the FPS go as well).Andreas Andreas, LOWW - Nihil sumus et fuimus mortales.
