I am guessing this is probably one odd man out case as response there has been very quick by the developer. I would still give benefit of doubt and try getting access to forums and post your issues there as they would be in best position to analyse your logs which capture more data than just ATC communication transcript. Also did you try the demo version of PF3 before purchase? I remember they had a very generous trial version where you could experience all aspects of flight using PF3 which should have helped you in making your choice. There are also threads here which talk about comparisons between PF3 and other products which should have helped in providing more details on what the product is capable of. There is no one ATC product today that does everything perfectly. Some excel in certain departments more than others. PF3 is no exception to this but it is backed by an active developer who has been quick to provide updates and fixes. I understand your frustration but it would be worthwhile to wait and get a resolution from their official support before completely writing off. Hi, thanks for this, and I do agree with you - I was just irritated by the absurd implication that I was at fault given how obvious it was in that transcript alone that I could not have been, no matter how poor my input into the software. I will stick with it for now, because I don't want to fork out a total of £80 for my ATC, and I'll see where it goes. Unfortunately I didn't fly with the demo because I felt so trusting of the software through the manual which I really liked, and even the fact they offered the trial made me feel like buying it straight away - a bit strange I know, but I thought 'these guys deserve my money, this is really great'. I'll see how it goes, thanks. Also you need to let me have your user name via email so I can check/activate your forum account. Obviously this will only be necessary if you require our help with the issues you are experiencing, but that can only be done via our support forum. Hi Dave, thanks for the post - I did indeed send it to that email as per your last post. Very strange that you haven't got it. I sent it from a gmail account, which I've just tested in and out from a different provider and both emails got in/out okay. I'll PM you on here. Thanks. As I said EVERY ATC addon need some time to get into it and indeed, since you spend money on this one already, why not see how far you can get with it! From what I have read the PF3 guys are very helpful so persevere! As I said my first ProATC flights were FAR from perfect... the fact that they are all perfect now clearly shows it was all due to user errors and not the software.

Once you understand PF3 it becomes rather pleasant routine updating yourself on the procedures, that you are going to fly (like real pilots do!). C'mon doesn't take more than 5min - 10min max after 10-15 flights. Cheers! Interesting viewpoint. Have you used ProATC yourself? Curious of your opinion.. the flipside! Quick other question actually about PF3, at EGNX the only way of getting clearance is through FSS, is this type of thing normal d'you reckon? I know you can add facilities but with FS default ATC you'd just get clearance from Ground, which is unavailable in PF3.. You will get clearance from Ground if there is no Clearance Frequency (with hotkey 0).

I've flown ProATC/X much more than PF3, PF3 just makes you refresh and visualize the procedures a little more than ProATC/X does before each flight. But we're talking about 5 min more of looking at the charts preparing for the flight that some consider a quality time in flightsimming. I treat filling out of those few boxes (if/when needed) as taking notes for myself. So no drama or trouble at all here. PF3 fears are overly exaggerated. Edited January 16, 20188 yr by Dirk98
January 16, 20188 yr And lest we forget PF3 like ProATC is also wind dependent choosing the rwy to take off or land, it goes with AI flow. Or can be overriden no problem. There is also a 3party tool for rwy randomization in addition to it. PS: ProATC is more for the lazy like me - moving map, yay!! Edited January 16, 20188 yr by Dirk98

Well that didn't work at EGNX - hotkey 0 was just 'request taxi'. January 16, 20188 yr Press it anyway. It will work. It will be "request clearance" on the first press and "request taxi" on the second press.

January 16, 20188 yr Also I remember something: when I run PF3 after reinstalls first thing I do is change key assignments. I run PF3 on a networked PC and some bindings just don't go through.
