May 5, 200620 yr Hello pilots,I'd like to know, if there is a free real weather tool like ActiveSky or something? I am a little unhappy with the default fs9 real weather feature, because the number of cloud layers are very limited and the visibility is always to high. Thanks,Bj
May 5, 200620 yr I use ActiveSky V6+G. Cannot fly without it. I highly reccomend it if you can afford it. However, I did a google search for "Freeware Real Weather for FS2004" and found:FSMETAR:http://personal.telefonica.terra.es/web/fsmetar/I have not used it, but I have seen a few posts here about it by other FS pilots that use it and it appears to do rather well. Have a look and see if it will work for you.

Jason[br /]General Aviation Fan[br]P4 3.2Ghz, 1GB Ram, FX5900 128MB, XP SP2.[br /][br /] J R (Jason R MYNN) General Aviation Nut FSEconomy Pilot
May 5, 200620 yr Hi Wise words from Jason. I use FSMetar extensively and it is the best freeware weather client out there. If you can afford it, Active sky would be the way to go..CheersJames
May 6, 200620 yr Hello, thanks for the link to FS METAR. I will try it. My problem with Active Sky is, that I don't need the included cloud pack and everything. I am looking for a weather tool only! Thanks again.Bj
May 6, 200620 yr Author AS6 includes the clouds. But you can deside not to install the clods. Just use the weather generator tool. Active Sky Graphic is a stand-alone program included in Active Sky 6, containing a large nummber of diffrent cloud combinations and other graphical improvments. But as I said. You can deside not to open teh Graphic program and just use the weather generator tool instead. AIG co-admin, AIG flightplanner, AI repainter and AFCAD designer.
