Clipping ground scenery in Boston V2...

Featured Replies

Everytime I land at George Grimshaw's Boston (v2) I get terrible clipping of the original ground scenery bleeding through. I have the scenery set at 'layer 1' which is way above the default textures (considering I have a hug amount of scenery installed)...If I load up the scenery and start at KBOS everything is fine but if I takeoff from somewhere else and land at KBOS I get the clipping problem all over the ground texture with the exception being the runways. Thanks for any help any of you guys can give... :-shy

Same here. I tried contacting the author a few times. No luck. It's one of the best airports ever designed. I wish there was a fix for this though.Michael

Perhaps you might try reloading the scenery just before you approach the airport (I have the command set to ctrl-shift-R). (I haven't noticed the problem myself yet).Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)

Thanks guys for the comments and sorry Thomas if I came across hard in the other thread. Anyway, reloading the scenery would take a huge amount of time on an otherwise normal approach besides unless you start your flight at the airport, all approaches and landings result in clipping ground textures.I noticed this same issue when landing at FlightScenery's Green State Intl. Maybe this is some kind of East Coast thing with FS2k4... :-hmmm

If you have Emma Field or Aerosoft Manhattan you can get some problems.Try disabling them & see if Boston still clips. Why this pair causes problems I do not know.

Well, I don't have a clue about what you are talking about :)I'm of the opinion that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and that 80-90% of our communication is through body language, which you just can't see here. So, whatever you said, no hard feelings. There are people who I avoid here and elsewhere, but you are not one of them. I do my best not to embroil myself in silly arguments about a game, I have neither the time or emotional energy to spare.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com/FC_StartJava.html] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)

I noticed the same problems with KBOS and never could figure it out...

Hi!Usually these problems occur when there is no flatten bgl for the airport or the default flatten has been modified. Maybe addon mesh is causing this as well. Sometimes the flatten does not work when it is set exactly to the correct elevation or the elevation default field has, 1 cm higher and everything is ok.There seems to be flatten in KBOSscenery directory but I don't know exactly if it covers the whole area or so.Tatu

Thomas we had a discussion in the "Anyone tried "AirportsUSA" yet?" thread... You
