Windows 10 64bit Version 1709

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I decided to use Voxatc but when i go to the purchase site there is in bold letters this hint:

Voxatc does not work with Windows 10 64bit lastest update

My question is whether this is still valid or not. And if yes, will there be a update ?

Regards

Mine is still working (with the caveats described in this forum).

That's pretty funny. I have no idea why that is displayed there, because it works fine with  Win 10 1709, as Jürgen wrote above. A couple of the  VOXATC utilities don't work correctly, but they are used to edit text configuration files, which can be done with a text editor as a workaround. Other than that, VOXATC occasionally clips the very end of of some of the spoken phrases but that's just a minor annoyance.

I have installed the demo and yes, it seems to be fine! But i can not get Voxatc to run over the network. All indicator bars shows green but nothing happens! When i click the disable button in the panel, the server application crashes. I have also noticed that the call-sign in the panel is the standard call-sign and not what i have entered in the settings. Does anyone has an idea what the reason is for that?

Try searching this subforum, as there were a few threads about running VOXATC 7 across a network. Personally, I don't like running any app in that fashion, as whatever one gains by having a 2nd PC share the CPU load, one loses by having the quirks and glitches associated with a network install. Besides, it's not like the primary PC doesn't lose some horsepower by having to deal with the SimConnect channel, which is getting ever more clogged by aircraft and other add-ons. For example, since I'm still not willing to invest in the existing low resolution consumer VR hardware for my flight sims, I use TrackIR at 4K and I was shocked to see my non-networked SimConnect log and what an immense amount of activity was going on every second.

Open the file varmod.cfg in the folder:

C:\Users\<username>d\AppData\Roaming\Internal Workings\VoxATC P3D 4

with a text editor and see what your callsign is set to. It sounds like you might not have the correct permissions from Windows to alter that file.

Thanks for your answer!

I have solved the problem with different call-sign. There is another settings-app in the network package.

I have no other possibility as to run voxatc over the network because i am using a 1:1 scale A320 cockpit with a (4m diameter) curved screen operated by 3 full hd projectors and i do not want to have the panels in sight when i am looking out of the window - this would not be realistic. The processor in the simulator-pc  is running at 5Ghz and almost all of the computing power is needed for the sim. If possible, i would not charge it with additionaly work. I know that there is an option just running the panels on different network computers, but i have already tried that out with no success. (all green but nothing happens)

Is there a log-file for voxatc-networking ?

It is very frustrating that there is no support from the developer.
